I’m Soumini, and I’m a freshmen in Del Norte High School, San Diego. I was drawn to FYLH over a year ago because of it’s cause to help provide affordable care to patients. Since then we’ve conducted many successful events and have raised funds to power Sanjeevani hospital in Kuchipudi. One of my favorite events so far has been the Diwali Diya Painting workshop. We invited families to come celebrate Diwali with music, food, and painting. I enjoyed the opportunity to interact with children, help them celebrate a treasured holiday and create beautiful art that would bring them many memories to date. People contributing to these events also felt fulfilled because their participation meant that more people in India were able to afford necessary healthcare.
